Lisa Benavente is an Extension Associate for the Expanded Food & Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) and is a member of the Department of Youth, Family, and Community Sciences. She has over 15 years experience serving limited resource families in both educator and leadership roles. Lisa currently provides leadership to EFNEP in the North Central District. She trains, coaches, and provides programmatic supervision to area EFNEP Nutrition Program Assistants/Associates. She collaborates with county teams in support of EFNEP and works closely with the district’s county extension directors for recruitment, hiring and evaluation of Nutrition Program Assistants/Associates. In addition, Lisa supports program success by the critical review of outreach and impacts. She is currently working within the following counties: Ashe, Durham, Forsyth, Guilford, Orange and Surry.
